Director Nia DaCosta and star Teyonah Parris said that Marvel/Captain Marvel 2 will surprise fans and is a very crazy journey. The first Captain Marvel, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, was released in 2019. Played by Brie Larson as the nominal role, Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury, this movie is the origin story of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, and introduces the role of Monica Rambo as an eleven-year-old child.
Rambo reappears as an adult in Disney+'s Wanda Vision, where she is played by actress Taiyona Paris. Iman Vellani (Iman Vellani) cast the cast for the Disney+ series "Ms. Marvel" (Ms. Marvel), this series follows the superpowered teenager Kamala Khan (Kamala Khan), the latter will also Parris and Larson appear together in The Marvels. Ms. Marvel, who has the ability to change her body and appearance, is likely to make her debut before The Marvels to prepare for the trio. The last appearance of Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson, was in the 2019 Avengers: Endgame, where she assisted in the final battle with Thanos.
Earlier this year, Candyman's director Nia DaCosta announced that it would take over the directorship of Marvel, which is currently in production. The director duo of Captain Marvel, Borden and Flake, welcomed Da Costa to the franchise when they left and wished her the best results in the sequel. In an interview for Candyman, DaCosta talked about ET’s Marvel, saying that she was excited about Paris’s support for her movie, and explained that the whole movie would be a surprise, because no one knows what will happen to the team-up film. Here is what DaCosta and Parris have to say about what surprises the sequel will bring to fans:
"Everything. The movie is going to be a really wild ride. I'm really excited, said Dacosta, with Parris adding, "Like, the whole thing will surprise you. Because you don't know anything."
Parris, who co-starred in DaCosta's Candyman, said she was very happy to be able to film the sequel with Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan, and said, “It’s really cool that everyone is in one place.” The actress just finished Jamie Fox’s sci-fi comedy, they cloned Tyrone, and her Marvel co-star Brie Larson made her last appearance in 2019's Just Mercy with Michael B. Jordan. The actress recently showed off her superhero physique filmed for The Marvels in a social media post.
With The Marvels moving out of the original story map and adding DaCosta's director's signature to this land, this film is more likely to have a greater impact than the first one. Although Captain Marvel conducted the standard origin round to build a new MCU supplement, Marvel should allow Larson, Paris, and Villani to expand their roles higher, farther, and faster than before. With each of them appearing in MCU movies or Disney+ series, Marvel has the opportunity to bring the characters into more complicated situations, which may surprise fans, while both Da Costa and Paris are promising.
Marvel/Captain Marvel 2 will be released on November 11, 2022.
At 29 years old, my favorite compliment is being
told that I look like my mom. Seeing myself in her image, like this
daughter up top, makes me so proud of how far I’ve come, and so thankful
for where I come from.
